"Why not begin with A?"
A Is For Anything is a new musical for young audiences unlike anything you've ever seen. This inventive new work, commissioned by the Delaware Institute for the Arts in Education in 1988, has captivated thousands of young theatergoers (and their parents and teachers) during dozens of performances in Delaware, central New York, and Pennsylvania.
A is for Anna...
...the perky protagonist of A Is For Anything, a bright young girl who gets A's in spelling and multiplication but discovers, to her dismay, that when it comes to make-believe, she's an under-achiever. Anna seeks help from an eccentric doctor who has some good advice (and some bad jokes) for her new patient.
A is for Adventure...
In the course of her wacky cure, Anna - and the audience - get the chance to travel to the heart of darkest Africa...fly with the legendary Amelia Earhart... sing the blues with Al the Gator... match wits with the Answer Man in the world's weirdest quiz show...and, along the way, learn why "there would be no art without 'A' to start." It's an unforgettable 50 minutes of mirth, madness and mind-bending fun!
